Ganpati Bappa Morya!!!

Raani - The Queen

Raani was the Queen of Gossips in our age group.. We were the young buds who were waiting to bloom. But Humein Anadi mat samajhna. We would gossip even on the recent Love Affairs. I and M were poor khiladis.. But our beloved Raani had mastered in it..

She stays here in the same city as me. Once it happened so that we found each other on FB after very very very long time. She called me home, and it was a big PACHKAA of mine to go there and shout at the gate for her to open the damn door... It was a sunny Sunday afternoon. I took some sweets, and got an auto to her house. I was not very sure where her house was. I kept calling her, only to be recieved my her husband saying we are out somewhere and she is at home.. She doesnt have a mobile..I cursed myself for being so excited to meet this lady.

When I was back from there, I had the old memories linger in my mind. Nobody would take her seriously. Guys made fun of her and girls better avoided her..

Its Ok probably she was in a situation she was not able to clear it and got trapped in her own words, I was hurt..Probably I would never want to meet her again

Walking down the memory lane....

I was never a pampered kid. None of my siblings were. But I bet we spent a great childhood with all good, funny, hillarious, and what not people around us..
When I meet my Sis 'M' and Bro 'A' we talk a lot about our childhood days in Solapur. These talks i guess will never end.

Aai, Baba and we three musketeers stayed in an apartment addressed
B2-6,
24/7 Railway Lines,
Gowri Shankar Apartments,
Ramlal Chowk,
Solapur.

Hahh.. I still remember it.. Wow..

The stay over here was for a period of 12 years from late 80's to late 90's. That was... I mean THAT!!! was the splendid time, the enormous fun filled timespan of my entire life.. This apartment was originally built for  the railway officials and later many others occupied some of the them, like Us.

You would never feel lonely in such place.. Moreover I never felt so when I was a child, thats so speacial about being innocent and unknown to this Big Bad world which just tries to rip you apart... Anyways

The Neighbourhood was 90% brahmins, few christians and few others but it didnt matter for us, we all lived in harmony. Ganesh chaturthi was the time we craved for; the entire Year. We also had a Fun Fair sometime in January. Apart from this, the haldi kunku ceremonies, the birthday parties, marriages, mundans were the several occasions when we all met. The doors of most of the houses(except some khadus and khavchat people - ref marathi dictionary) used to be wide open till 12:00 P.M. You cannot compare this place with a modern day apartment esp in cities like Bangalore or other metros, where staying in an apartment is nothing different from staying somewhere on a hilltop. People are so sophisticated and so called "civilized"(Watch out the double quotes), that they are not bothered about the neighbours, they dont even gossip :D.. Thats boring right.. We had this Mahila Mandal of each of the buildings, who would finish the daily chores and sit at the ground floor steps in such a manner, that a person who wants to get in has to hop from the crowd of this bunch of fat ladies in the age group of 45-65.  They would gossip nonstop.

There's a story of every sentence I write.. I wish I could write a book under the same Title ... Aaahhh what an Optimist I am atleast somewhere...
